James Gosling
James Gosling (1955–present) is a Canadian
computer scientist, best known as the founder
and lead designer behind the Java programming
language. Java is the most popular programming
language used today. As Philip Don Estridge is called
‘The father of the IBM PC’, Gosling has been given
the title, ‘The father of Java’.
Sir Tim Berners-Lee
Sir Tim Berners-Lee (1955–present)
is an English engineer and computer
scientist, best known as the inventor
of the World Wide Web. Sir Tim
Berners-Lee also created the first
web browser to access the World
Wide Web. In 2004, Berners-Lee
was knighted by Queen Elizabeth
II for his pioneering work, and in
2016 he received the ‘Turing Award’
(like a Nobel prize for computing) to
honour his contributions to computer
technology.
