The Countries of the Gulf and the Middle East
The Middle East region is surrounded
by important bodies of water, World Trade Center, Manama, Bahrain
including the Black Sea, the Caspian
Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the Red
Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Arabian
Gulf. The Arabian Gulf is in the center of
the Middle East, cutting into the region
and giving it a hook or curved shape.
The United Arab Emirates, Qatar,
Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iran are located
along the Arabian Gulf.
These bodies of water provide access
to shing, industry, and trade among
the Middle Eastern countries.
The Gulf countries are connected by
shared history, language, and religion.
They are also known for containing vast
reserves, or stored amounts, of oil,
petroleum, and natural gas.
These countries have formed the Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC) to work in
cooperation and partnership on various
issues important to the area. These
countries include the United Arab
Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman,
Arabian passenger boat next to
Kuwait Towers Qatar, and Kuwait.
