Who Is an Arab?
The word Arab refers to people who speak Arabic as a rst language and have a shared
cultural heritage. Arabs include Muslims, Christians, Jews, and other religions.
What Is the Arab World?
The Arab world has twenty-two countries, all located in the Middle East and North Africa.
Among these countries are Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Qatar,
Bahrain, Oman, and Jordan. The citizens of the Arab World are Arabs. However, there are
Arab people who live elsewhere, such as the Arab Americans who are American citizens
with Arab ancestors and who have Arab roots in the Arab countries.
