             Ancient Egypt

The ancient Egyptian civilization is one of

the oldest civilizations, and it led to most

            of the development of modern-day

            Egypt and the surrounding area.

Ancient Egypt was at its most power

during the time of the New Kingdom.

            For many centuries, the Egyptian

            civilization conquered many di erent

places until the rule of Cleopatra when

Egypt fell to the Roman Empire.

responsible for establishing a new army and

            map for Egypt.

This turned Egypt into a Khedivate under the

Ottoman Empire, which lasted until the

British invaded the country in 1882. In 1922,

Egypt declared its Independence, but it was

not until 1956 that the British actually

withdrew their troops from the country.
