Dear Parents,

As part of our social studies program, your child has been learning about

the ancient Egyptian dynasties and history. Your child learned ways that
he or she can identify the important events that shaped ancient Egyptian
history.

You can help your child by supporting our classroom learning.

Here are some things you can do to reinforce the message of this lesson
and our related learning activities.
• Ask your child to tell you about the lesson and what he or she

learned from it.
• Use the internet to review with your child the history of the

ancient Egyptian Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms.
• Watch videos online showing how King Menes unified Egypt.
• Watch a video about Queen Hatshepsut. Talk about how her rule

was a reign of prosperity and expansion.
• Share any information you know about ancient Egypt with your
child.
