Dear Parents,

As part of our social studies program, your child has been learning about

the Islamic Empire. Your child learned about how it was one of the
biggest empires in world history.
You can help your child by supporting our classroom learning.

Here are some things you can do to reinforce the content of this lesson

and our related learning activities.
• Ask your child to tell you about the lesson and what he or she
learned from it.

• Use the internet to review with your child a map of the Islamic
Empire across the world.

• Watch a video about the Islamic Empire and how the caliphates of
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) continued to expand the empire
after his death.

• Find two or three photos that show beautiful Ottoman Empire
architecture and art. Have your child tell you what he or she
sees using descriptive language.
