Greece

Greece is located in southern Europe on the Balkan Peninsula. It is

the birthplace of democracy, and its ancient culture has had

enormous in uence in the elds of literature, arts, philosophy,

science, sports, and politics. Its location and geography make it a

popular destination for tourists to visit for its beauty, rich history,

and warm climate throughout the year.

Greece is a country of almost 6,000 islands, of which 227 are
inhabited. It has the longest coastlines of any European country

and extends into the Aegean Sea, Ionian Sea, and the

Mediterranean Sea. It shares its borders with Bulgaria, the
Republic of Macedonia, and Albania to the north and Turkey to

the east.
