What Are the Most Famous Archeological Sites in Greece?
Greece has an abundance of archeological sites like no other place in Europe.
Athens
Athens is one of the major historical sites of Greece. Visitors can see the Acropolis, which is an ancient
citadel located on a high point over the city. It is one of the most famous structures in the world.
Olympia
Olympia was the original site of the Olympic Games. Many ancient buildings and statues remain there for
visitors to see.
Meteora
Meteora contains huge rock pillars, or tall vertical structures of stone, with an average height of 300 m.
The area is famous for its many ancient monasteries.
