            Greece’s Longest River and Biggest Forest


            Haliacmon River

            Haliacmon River is the longest river in


            Greece with a length of almost 300

            km. It goes from the Gramos

            Mountains on the Albanian border

            and  ows through villages and

            mountains to the Aegean Sea.

            Haliacmon has many unique kinds of

             sh that almost exist nowhere else.

            Foloi Oak Forest

            Other than the beaches and rivers of         Haliacmon River in Greece


            Greece, Foloi Forest is one of the

            biggest and oldest self-planted oak

            forests in Europe.

            Foloi Forest is located in southwestern

            Greece at an altitude of 688 m on the

            Foloi Mountain.

            The trees in the Foloi Forest range


            from 15 to 20 m in height. The forest is

            a protected area because it has trees

            that are more than 200 years old.
