Asia
Asia is the largest and most populated continent in the world. It lies
in the Northern Hemisphere, except for some islands that extend
into the Southern Hemisphere. Asia is the birthplace of some of the
most important civilizations, including Mesopotamia, which held
the rst civilization in history.
Asia is bordered by the continents of Europe and Africa to the west,
where it merges, or combines, with Europe into what we call
Eurasia. The Paci c Ocean is to the east and south, the Arctic Ocean
to the north, and the Indian Ocean to the south of the continent.
