location. She saw that her school is located north of

On the globe, Lorna saw a big red horizontal line
that divides the Earth into two parts. She asked her
mother about it and her mother said, “This is the
Equator.” But then Lorna noticed another big blue
vertical line on the globe. Her mom told her that this
is the Prime Meridian. These two lines divide the Earth
into parts called hemispheres. How do these lines help us to
know our place on Earth?
Conclusion
The Equator is an imaginary line that divides the Earth into Northern and
Southern Hemispheres. The Prime Meridian is an imaginary line that
divides the Earth into Eastern and Western Hemispheres. These lines help
us understand north, south, east, and west on Earth.
