A compass
The compass was invented long ago in
China.
It helps people nd their way when they
are traveling by giving them directions.
These directions are called cardinal
directions.
The four directions are as follows:
North (N)
South (S)
East (E)
West (W)
GPS
It stands for Global Positioning System.
It helps us locate a place or an area on
our cell phones. A GPS can tell us the
cardinal directions as well, so it can
easily provide us with directions to
places we would like to go to and tell us
how much time it will take to reach
them.
