Home Connection
Dear Parents,
Your child is involved in learning activities to develop an awareness of
the communities in which we live. They may be asked to complete
several tasks at home. Your support, interest, and cooperation with these
activities will support our overall program.
Our current lesson is about types of community. We urge you to talk to
your child about the lesson.
Here are some activities you can use to enhance and enrich your child’s
knowledge.
• Ask your child to tell you two things that they learned from the
lesson.
• Watch with your child a movie or read together a story about
different types of communities.
• Talk with your child about the community where you live now.
Share how the community where you grew up may be similar or
different.
• Ask your child to point out community helpers as they
see them through the day. Community helpers might
be police officials, health workers, transportation
drivers, community cleaners, and so on.
Thank you for being our partner in education!
Research has shown that children with involved parents score
better than others whose parents don't have a role in their
education process. Help your child stay brilliant!
