Home Connection
Dear Parents,
Your child is involved in learning activities to develop knowledge about
maps and locations. They may be asked to complete several tasks at
home. Your support, interest, and cooperation with these activities will
support our overall program.
Our current lesson is about why and how we use maps. We urge you to
talk to your child about the lesson.
Here are some activities you can use to enhance and enrich your child’s
knowledge.
• Ask your child to tell you two things that they learned from the
lesson.
• Open a world map and show your child the Equator and Prime
Meridian and how they divide the Earth into hemispheres.
• Play “Treasure Hunt” with your child: hide a valuable item
around the house and have them look for it using a map.
Thank you for being our partner in education!
Research has shown that children with involved parents score
better than others whose parents don't have a role in their
education process. Help your child stay brilliant!
