The High Dam




            The High Dam in Aswan uses the water

            of the Nile River to generate electricity.




            The Nile Delta





            The Nile Delta is located in Northern                High Dam

            Egypt (Lower Egypt) where the Nile River

            empties into the Mediterranean Sea.

            It has been formed by the deposits of soil

            from the Nile River.









            The Sahara Desert                                                    Nile Delta





                                                                    Sahara means “desert” in Arabic. The

                                                                    Sahara is the largest hot desert in the

                                                                    world. It covers most of Northern Africa

                                                                    and parts of Egypt.

                                                                    There are people who live in the Sahara,

                                                                    and other desert areas. They are named

                                                                    Bedouins. They often live in an area of the


                                                                    desert called an oasis.

                                                                    An oasis is a place in the desert that

                                                                    provides water. There are several oases in

                                                                    the Sahara.
