            The Physical Features of Egypt




            Egypt is in the northeast part of the continent of Africa, in

            the region of Northern Africa.

            Egypt is divided into two sections: Upper Egypt in the

            south and Lower Egypt in the north. The sections are

            named this way because the Nile River  ows from south

            to north.

            The Nile River




            The Nile River is the longest river in the world. It provides

            water and rich soil that is good for growing crops.


            The Nile River  ows through the desert and ends in what

            is called the “Nile Delta.”

            The Nile River is important for farming, transportation,

            and generating electricity.
