The Pyramids of Giza

The three Pyramids of Giza are the

largest of all the Egyptian pyramids.

They are one of the Seven Wonders of

the Ancient World. They are located

around ve miles to the west of the

Nile River in the city of Giza, near

Cairo. It took many men from

communities around ancient Egypt to

build the Pyramids. Scientists think

that it took from twenty to thirty years

to build the Pyramids of Giza.

Hieroglyphics

This was the writing system

of the ancient Egyptians. It

is made up of 750 signs or

symbols known as

hieroglyphs. It can be

written left to right or right

to left or top to bottom. We

can still see many examples

of hieroglyphs in museums

today.
