Some Facts about the Egyptian Civilization
• The three Pyramids of Giza are for three
Egyptian kings. The largest is the Great
Pyramid of Giza which was built for King
Khufu, the second one was for King
Khafra, and the third was for King
Menkaure.
• The Pyramids were built as tombs for the
pharaohs and their queens, so that they
would have all their belongings with
them in the afterlife, such as food, jewelry,
and additional luxuries.
• Egyptians cared about documenting their
history and life through building many
monuments and temples along with
engraving their history onto their walls.
You can see many of these monuments in
Luxor and Aswan, which hold one-third of
all the world’s monuments.
• The ancient Egyptian civilization was one
of the rst civilizations in the world based
on agriculture by farming on the basins of
the Nile. Egypt was famous for planting
wheat, barley, gs, vegetables,
pomegranates, and vines.
