What Is Life Like in Jordan Today?

Modern Jordan is a constitutional monarchy. Its capital,

Amman, is almost in the center of the country, and it is the

ruling, administrative, and trading center of the kingdom.

Amman is a beautiful city of white-colored housing that

covers many hills. Jordan is a blend of ancient history and

modern life.

Tourism is considered one of the main important economic

sources in Jordan. The country is well known for health and Camping in Petra, Wadi Rum

medical tourism around the famous Dead Sea. The rose-red

city of Petra, which was founded around the fourth century

B.C.E., is one of the most important touristic attractions in

the country. Famous movies have used Petra and the valley

of Wadi Rum in southern Jordan as locations.

Hiking along the Gulf of Aqaba and diving to see its coral

reefs are also considered top tourist attractions in the
Rock arch in Wadi Rum
