What Were the Great Islamic Empires?


            There were  ve great Islamic Empires in history:

            The Umayyad Caliphate (661–750 C.E.)

            This was a clan of Quraysh tribes and was the second

            caliphate after the death of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

            The Abbasid Caliphate (750–1258 C.E.)


            This was the third of the Islamic Caliphates. The Abbasids

            ruled from their capital in Baghdad in modern-day Iraq,
                                                                             Al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo, Egypt
            after having overthrown the Umayyad Caliphate in the

            Abbasid Revolution of 750 C.E.

            The Ottoman Empire (1299–1922 C.E.)

            This famous time is also known as the Turkish Empire. The Ottoman Empire had a great impact on the

            world when it controlled many trade routes in the area.

            The Safavid Empire (1501–1736 C.E.)

            The Safavid Empire was founded in Iran and ruled over one of the greatest Persian empires.


            The Mughal Empire (1526–1857 C.E.)

            This empire was founded in South Asia and invaded India.
